 That's not the case.  The bug is not about a problem in the package
 itself, that is, the bug's score is not restricted to the package and
 only the package.  The bug affects _other_ applications.  If you don't
 like our definition of critical, go argue with our fine release
 manager.

 Why are you so offended by calling this bug critical?  It's going to
 stop GNOME 2.6 from moving to sarge.  So what?  From what I saw a
 couple of days ago in a system which has a more complex installation
 than just "only GNOME" getting GNOME into sarge is going to take much
 more than just cleaning up the RC bugs.  Installing 2.6 required
 convincing apt that _there is_ an upgrade path, and after doing that,
 apt happily suggested to remove 390+ packages from the system.
