Which audiosink are you using ? Could you test with gst-launch ?

$ gconftool-2 -g /system/gstreamer/0.8/default/audiosink
$ gst-launch-0.8 gnomevfssrc location=/path/to/my/musicfile.ogg !
  spider ! volume ! audioscale ! audioconvert ! $(gconftool-2 -g
  /system/gstreamer/0.8/default/audiosink)

Does it happen on all files ? Only mp3 or ogg ? Could you try to change
the audiosink too ?
