Bug#255156: gnome-cpufreq-applet: 0.1.3-1 crashes the Gnome panel on intel

After upgrading debian testing on 6/18/04
gnome-cpufreq-applet makes gnome menus not work.  The
system remained usable as long as you could get a term
and start apps through command line.  Kernel 2.4.26
Gnome 2.6 testing intel centrino 1.6 on IBM X31
Thinkpad.
This seems like the same bug that was reported on
