Well, the problem is not the architecture, but the kernel version. Is a
very silly bug, a damn not initialized variable, with 2.4.x kernels, and
now it is fixed in cvs
(http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gnome-cpufreq-applet/)

I had not realized it before because I'm using a 2.6 kernel.
