Do you know how to rebuild a package ? Could you rebuild it without the
LDFLAGS +=3D -Wl,-z,defs part in debian/rules ?

Basically you need to:
- apt-get source libgnome
- go in the dir, edit debian/rules to remove the LDFLAGS +=3D part
- fakeroot dpkg-buildpackage

and dpkg -i the new deb file.
