To reproduce:

$ tput reset ; echo test

Expected result:

- Window clears
- Scrollbar resets (scrollback buffer gone)
- The word test appears at the top of the window, followed by a newline
  and prompt.

Actual result:

- Window clears
- Scrollbar resets (scrollback buffer gone)
- [ In order to get any output, press enter and see
  test\n and two prompts ]
