When gdm is started for the first time after boot, it displays all messages in English, even though I have a
different locale set. Also, when I tried to put an application in the /etc/gdm/PostLogin/Default file, output from
the application indicated that GTK was unable to set the locale and fell back to Posix/C.
If gdm is killed and then started from a shell, these problems are nowhere to be seen.
