Bug#278026: gdm: GDM starts X with 75 dpi

although I have /etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc set to exec /usr/bin/X11/X -dpi
100 -nolisten tcp
gdm starts X with 75dpi.  i cannot find any mention of how to change
this value to 100 dpi in the /usr/share/doc/gdm docs nor in /etc/gdm/gdm.conf
