Package: balsa
Version: 2.2.4-1
Severity: serious

I've reported this bug [1] in order to give balsa-2.0.18-1 [2] currently
in testing-proposed-updates a chance of being distributed with Sarge
instead of balsa-2.2.4-1 until this can be fixed.

Cheers,
Andrew "Netsnipe" Lau

At this point please let me remind you of the known but not yet fixed =20
gmime bug which *may* still break checking multipart/signed signatures if =
=20
the signed content is again a multipart. This is of course a bad =20
situation, as the user may get false broken signature warnings, making the =
=20
crypto features of balsa "feel" somewhat unreliable. I don't know if you =
=20
would build balsa with gpg(me) support, but I must admit that I would have =
=20
really mixed feelings if a semi-broken package (well, from the crypto =20
pov...) would go into debian, in particular as I can not do anything at =20
this point to fix the problem...

The other open gpg bug (support for multipart/signed and /encrypted in =20
imap mailboxes) is quite close to being resolved, btw.

Cool! very interesting (and encouraging) information!

Ouch! Free time? Can someone explain what this means?!? ;-)

I'ts great to hear that you recognise and like the work I've done, even if =
=20
I'm not in that list - I guess I don't have to explain how much time such =
=20
a project eats...

Cheers, Albrecht.

Version 2.2.5-2 of balsa has reached testing, therefore I am closing this
bug.
