Distribution: Debian 3.1
Package: rhythmbox
Severity: normal
Version: GNOME2.6.1 unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: Debian
Synopsis: Rhythmbox doesn't play anymore.
Bugzilla-Product: rhythmbox
Bugzilla-Component: General
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified
Description:
Description of Problem:
Since upgrading to Rhythmbox 0.8 a while back, when I either try to
import media or play media that is already in the library I get a
"Failed to create gnomevfssrc element; check your installation" error
dialog and then a quit.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open Rhythmbox
2. Play song or import media.

Actual Results:
Dialog with "Failed to create gnomevfssrc element; check your
installation"

Expected Results:
Music.

How often does this happen?
All the time.

Additional Information:
Searched on Google _lots_ for a fix. Most say that the gnomevfssrc
element isn't installed. I've got the gstreamer0.8-gnomevfs package
installed. gst-inspect-0.8 gnomevfssrc returns nothing. gst-register-0.8
rebuild registries and what-not but does not fix the problem. I've even
completely removed gstreamer0.8-gnomevfs and rhythmbox packages and
re-installed, but to no avail. The rhythmbox package has been updated a
couple of times since the problem started, and is at version 0.8.5-1.
