This bug has been open for far too long.  Is this bug still unreproducible?
I don't thing gnome-mime-data has any thing todo with this.  It is posible
that some xterminals may handel this diffrently, have a try with MGT.

I will try with xterm and Gnome-term(if it still exists).  I'm running
latesed nautilus(sid).
