Hello,

I was on jabber.students.cs.unibo.it and gateway
icq.jabber.students.cs.unibo.it, and gossip would show ICQ contacts just
fine.

Now I migrated on jabber.linux.it, and gateway icq.jabber.linux.it, and
I always see ICQ contacs offline. It seems that the problem is specific
to gossip, at least according to feedback from other server users.

I have no idea on how to provide more informations on it, but I'd be
happy to assist in nailing this one.

Bye,

Enrico

Hello,

I've been disconnected by the server, reconnected and now suddendly ICQ
contacts show fine. I contacted the server admin, and he says that the
ICQ transport often misbehaves.

Appearently, the other users that told me that with their clients things
worked, were just luckier than I was. Since it doesn't seem to be a
problem with gossip, I close the bug.

OTOH, the server admin says that when the ICQ transport is nuts, it
helps to perform a reconnect to it, if the client allows it. Gossip
doesn't allow it, so if it makes sense to have this feature, we can
reopen and retitle the bug as a wishlist feature request.

Ciao,

Enrico
