 It plays fine here (well I didn't play it completely), I can seek in
 the file etc.

 Please use the "reportbug" tool to report bugs, it provides more
 information to maintainers such as the versions of packages depended
 on, and the distribution you track.

 Could you please provide the versions of gstreamer and
 gstreamer-plugins:
    % dpkg -l libgstreamer-plugins0.8-0 libgstreamer0.8-0

 What's your audiosink?  Check with:
    % gconftool-2 -g /system/gstreamer/0.8/default/audiosink

 Does the following command work:
    % gst-launch-0.8 gnomevfssrc location=/path/to/my/musicfile.ogg ! \
       spider ! volume ! audioscale ! audioconvert ! $(gconftool-2 -g \
              /system/gstreamer/0.8/default/audiosink)
