  We (GNOME and KDE teams) are going to need to coordinate about this
  (kdelibs-data in unstable already includes applications.menu,
  gnome-menus is new in experimental).

  What about if we both rename our xdg/menus/* files to {kde,gnome}-*,
  and perhaps push this change upstream? KDE already prefixes all the
  files there, except applications.menu.

  Let us know what you think about this, and then we can work out the
  details for a smooth transition.
