I think it may be a missing tag, "apt-cache search movie player" find
totem, but aptitude doesn't.

That's because 'aptitude search' searches only package names. If you
were willing to have the same behaviour as apt-cache search, you should
have done 'aptitude search ~dmovie player', which would include the
package descriptions in the search.

This is not a bug, closing it.
