 Thanks for the infos, I'm reassigning that back to anjuta.

 While I agree that it would be nice for pango not to break its backward
 compatibility, the affected apps were fixed, and pango is keeping the
 change, so I'm unlikely to apply the patch unless you can explain why
 you want the patch applied (are other applications affected?).
