hi,

at the time I submitted the bug report, I did 100% confirm that removing
the ~/.gstreamer-0.? directories and running the register program was
sufficient, since I backed them up tried it, it worked, restored them,
it didn't work, removed them again, it worked. I can't remember
confirming this only for ~/.gstreamer-0.8 dirs, and since I no longer
have any broken ~/.gstreamer-0.8 directories, or old archived versions
of gstreamer to install, I can't test this anymore. sorry.
