Every time I try to resize a window in Gnome, the panel disappears and
then reappears with all the workspaces collapsed into the current
workspace and only this single workspace available for selection. Trying
to resize any window causes a very noticeable flicker. Minimising and
maximising are OK, switching between workspaces is OK (apart from an
annoying loss of focus) but I simply cannot resize any window.
