Subject: totem-xine: Totem makes xv loose true color
Package: totem-xine
Version: 1.2.1-3
Severity: important

Hi,

I'm using Debian Sid and the system is up to date now.

I found a strange thing about totem. Everytime I open the totem, then
the video output xv will loose 24 bit color and become a very ugly
display, just like a 8 or lower bit color. That is, after I open
totem again, it dislays totally urgly, loosing the original 24 bit
color. The problem may be caused by the ill-state of xv output after
the use of totem, since it also happens in mplayer with xv, but not
with other video outputs. I am sure that xv is not occupied by totem
after closing totem application, because mplayer does not report xv
can not be open, which should be if xv is still occupied by another
process. Only restarting gnome can make the 24 bit color back (not
necessarily needs restart the X by C-A-Backspace however).

The video card of mine is Intel Corporation 82915G/GV/910GL Express
Chipset Family Graphics Controller", and the driver in xorg.conf is
i810. The xvinfo output is
