Since 2.6.15 netlink mount events are deprecated (will be fully removed in
2.6.16), so hal now only polls /proc/mounts (only possible with kernel 
 >= 2.6.15). This could be causing this issue, but iirc gnome-vfs2 checks
 >/proc/mounts itself too, so i'm not sure.
