Bug#350137: gnome-menus: Main application menu will not open

Package: gnome-menus
Version: 2.10.2-1
Severity: normal

Recently, on just one of my debian boxes, it has become impossible to
open my "Applications" Menu. "Places" and "Desktop" open just fine, but
Applications appears briefly and then immediately closes.

I fetched alacarte to see if I could edit the problem away, but the program
crashes on start up, which I'm guessing is due to the same problem and that
package's dependency upon this one.
