retiel 354614 foomatic-gui: segfaults when invoked
stop

        Hi,

This is a followup for Debian bug <http://bugs.debian.org/354614>.

I tried reproducing this bug as follows:
 - pbuilder login
 - install foomatic-gui
 - install xvfb-run + xfonts-base
 - run foomatic-gui in a Xvfb

This worked (well it didn't crash).

I'm open to fixing not strong enough dependencies across distributions,
but I'm downgrading the severity for now because:
 - I can't reproduce the problem with the latest versions in unstable
 - this part of the conversation suggest that even with the latest
versions you have the bug and I don't:

 Please clarify:
 1) whether the problem happens with an up-to-date unstable
 2) the highest versions of the packages which I can install to
reproduce the problem and which dependency you think is broken

 I hope I don't sound like I don't give a shit, but I simply can't deal
with this problem unless I understand it, so please help me understand
 it.

On a related subject, I just noticed some dependencies were missing,
but they are not related to the versions you mention. In particular,
we decided to add the following dependencies:
 1) let python-gnome2 depend on python-gnome2-extras (instead of a
simple "Recommends") and file bugs against apps that need to update
their deps -- this is uploaded
 2) let python-gnome2-extras depend on python-gnome2-desktop and file
bugs against apps that need to update their deps -- this will be
 uploaded RSN
 3) add conflicts to ensure the new packages split from the old packages
are not installed at the same time as the old packages -- this is
 incomplete

   Bye,
