Bug#370282: Introduction of datarootdir causes regression in macros expecting double-expansion to work

 (I completely agree with you, and pointed upstream to the AC_DEFINE
 section because for the same reason.)

 Yes, it is a bug of AM_GLIB_DEFINE_LOCALEDIR.  The bug I reported is
 about the fact that this might introduce what looks like a regression
 between autoconf upgrades and to document this.
