Bug#353255: different behavior after hal upgrade

Something interesting happened after upgrading hal. When I
logged in the next morning, a CD that had already been mounted
for the last few days (by gvm on /media/cdrecorder) showed up
as mounted on nautilus (changed icon on computer:///) and its
icon appeared on the desktop. I thought the problem had been
fixed, but when I umounted this CD and inserted another one
there was no change on nautilus (computer:///) and no icon
showed up on the desktop, just like before the hal upgrade.

Another difference after the hal upgrade is that, before CDs
would be automatically mounted (by gvm) at /media/cdrecorder,
now they are automatically mounted at /media/hdc. Similarly, my
USB disk which used to be mounted at /media/UDISK now is
  mounted at /media/sdb1.

Mounted floppies show up as mounted on nautilus (computer:///)
and their icons appear on the desktop.

The output of 'lshal --monitor' when I insert a CD in the
  drive is:

    ivan at moorea:~> lshal --monitor
    Start monitoring devicelist:
    -------------------------------------------------
    volume_label_mp3_files added

  Hope this helps.

  - Ivan
