On second look, it is not:

Backtrace:
0: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(xf86SigHandler+0xa0) [0x10045f20]
1: [0x100374]
2: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(ProcXkbSetNames+0x258) [0x1010cbb8]
3: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(Dispatch+0x208) [0x10095568]
4: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(main+0x484) [0x100a63f4]
5: /lib/tls/libc.so.6 [0xfe7ca34]
6: /lib/tls/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xb4) [0xfe7cb84]

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

And from tries to tries, gnome-panel may or may not show. So in the
end it looks pretty much the same as it was in my first report...

And again, fluxbox works just fine.
