Bug#366472: libgnomecups1.0-1: writes warnings to stderr when no cups server is running

Package: libgnomecups1.0-1
Version: 0.2.2-1
Severity: normal

Hello,

on my computer, I have no printers, so I run no cups server. Still, in
certain circonstances (1), I get the following warning on stderr, every
few seconds:
WARNING **: IPP request failed with status 1280

This message is unneeded as I have no printer, and highly annoying when
running an interactive command prompt. It should at the very least print
the message only once.
The string is in /usr/lib/libgnomecups-1.0.so.1.0.0.

Probably a bug for upstream...
Baptiste

(1) I encountered this when using matplotlib with the wxwidgets backend.
I could not reproduce the problem with a smaller example, sorry about
that. I have:
python2.3 : 2.3.5-9.1
python-wxgtk2.6 : 2.6.1.2
python2.3-matplotlib : 0.86.2-2
