[Bug 341785] folder creation not working on some ftp sites

at least I can think of a very simple workaround for that problem:

drag&drop your content onto the ftp server.

Am not familiar with the corresponding gnome-vfs code, but I assume it is not
easily implemented since directory creation works equally througout locations.
