 The current consensus is that they are two many grave bugs in GNOME
 2.16 and too many transitions that would affect other packages for this
 version to be part of etch.  It's even not completely packaged yet.

 However, some 2.16 modules which are compatible with 2.14 might be
 pushed.  Probably not metacity nor libwnck though.

 This position might change if the release is delayed substantially.
