We already have experimental 0.0.14 packages in our SVN. If there is an
experimental-NMU going to happen, there should *not* be a fork of these
packages, but instead the changes should be team-maintained in our SVN in
pkg-ggz on Alioth. In the past, the packages were already collectively
maintained by Peter and me, and uploaded by him since I'm not a DD. Thus it
would be wiser to join pkg-ggz and become an uploader if you want a better
alignment of GGZ Debian packages with GGZ upstream version.

Since the Debian packages should be based on GGZ's 0.0.14 branch, we have to
get all the translations into the branch, and then cleanly build the packages
from it.

I do not like the modifications of the German translations in ggzcore. They
effectively swap the non-formal form for the formal form. However, in all of
GGZ we use the non-formal form by default. If the GNOME policy is to use the
formal form, then the changes only need to be in ggz-gtk since ggzcore
messages will only be shown as a fallback.

The copyrights are also incorrect. They date back to 1998, when GGZ didn't
even exist yet.

Finally, if we want to introduce new -data packages, this should also be
discussed beforehand, there were some issues with them in the past. I'm going
to look at the translations today to speed up the process a bit.
That isn't to say that your work is bad, in fact it is welcome, but it
shouldn't be uploaded without further changes.

Josef
