 First, I don't consider Openoffice very GONME-ish, even
 openoffice.org-gnome doesn't look that integrated with GNOME.

 Second, it's not easy to express that abiword *and* gnumeric are an
 alternative to openoffice.org-gnome or vice-versa.

 I think this will be solved if the dependency is made to a
 "recommends:" as to allow the removal of abiword in favor of openoffice
 if someone so desires.  This will be possible when APT enforces
 Recommends strongly enough.
