Bug#437335: 'Debian' menu not in Applications/menus

Package: gnome-menus

Version: 2.18.3-2

Don't know if this is the right package to file
against but it's definitely a high impact bug. After
a recent upgrade, none of the Debian packages which
are shown in the submenus are available, rendering
them unusable unless one knows the command line and
arguments to start them (which negates the point of
the GUI).

     The workaround is:

1) Install package 'alacarte' (this is was not
mentioned in any upgrade and the only way I found out
about it was by Googling the problem).

2) Go to 'System/Preferences/Main Menu' and check
'Debian'.

Please make whatever package broke the menus depend on
alacarte, and I suggest including the Debian menu by default.
