Bug#403456: gnome-panel: Applications menu missing, how to revert

In relation to this bug it says that I shall revert to version 2.14.3-3
to get Applications menus, but how to do that? I am getting
automatically Etch packages from mirrors, and I am missing Applications
menus in gnome panel. Can anyone help me restore my menus?
