Where are the applications in 'Open with other application" coming from?

Argh. I meant *.desktop.

Together with the "Open with other application" list entry, there are
all applications shown, that are mentioned (via .desktop) to handle this
special file type. But in "Open with other application", there are also
applications shown, that are definitely not mentioned to handle this
file-type. And in this list, I e.g. get 3 entries for Bluefish, although
there are only two relevant .desktop files. I attached a screenshot of
the list that I get, when I do this for e.g. a text/html file.

It's also possible, that the full Debian menu is put into this list too.
There for I CCed the pkg-gnome group of the Debian project.
