My origional configuration used Ctrl, which did work fine.  I changed
it to Alt but this did not take effect immediately - Ctrl was still
moving windows.  No amount of changing to Alt (I tried "Super" as
well) would take effect.  I then restarted metacity (killall
metacity), and when it came back up Alt was working.  Now, after the
restart, changing the key works as expected.
