Bug#297741: Trivial two year old bug not fixed and without comment

Hi,

I wonder why this trivial two year old bug is not fixed

And without comment in the BTS.

This will break any package that tries to use libtool to statically
link glib-2.0.

I'm planning to upload one, but now I have to kludge around it because
of this. I understand that now (with etchs release around the corner)
is not the time to upload a new glib-2.0, but I would want to know
your thoughts on this.
