The previous version of gedit-common contained 2 versions of this icon,
the 32x32 xpm for the menu, and a 48x48 png, both in
/usr/share/pixmaps/. This was useful for large Gnome panels with
shortcuts added from the menu. The problem with accessories-text-editor
is that it's not the same icon so the same software have a different
icon in the menu and in the gnome panel.
I don't understand why the 48x48 png was suppressed from this package...
