Hi,

Can you play these files in Totem? 

Can you generate thumbnails manually by running

        totem-video-thumbnailer video.avi test.png

What's the output of this command?

        gconftool
        --get /desktop/gnome/thumbnailers/video at x-msvideo/command

Is the thumbnail generated if you run "touch video.avi" and refresh the
view in Nautilus?
