Bug#335944: Image_Color PEAR module licensing

Andrew,

It's almost two years since I had opened the bug #5721 which you
suspended saying it was irrelevant. As Image_Canvas and Image_Graph
depend on Image_Color and both of them are LGPL the PHP licensing is
incompatible. As a result I'm either looking at 1) having to fork both
of them and strip out any reference to Image_Color; 2) removing both
Image_Graph and Image_Canvas from the Debian distribution; or 3) moving
them to non-free/contrib which will ensure that anything depending on
them also has to move to non-free/contrib and out of the main distribution.

You had mentioned in your reply to #5721 that you were going to discuss
on pear-dev list and ask what other developers thought. That's been over
a year now have you not gotten anything back? Has Image_Color2 been
written to be API compatible with Image_Color so Image_Graph and
Image_Canvas can depend on it as it is LGPL licensed as well?

	Regards,
	Jeremy T. Bouse
