Bug#429834: gnome-about crashes with font error in Debian Sid

Hello,
when running from places menu>about GNOME it crashes at the point where
it shows the credit  names of developers!.I use a custom font(Tahoma).
I have already reported this as a bug in GNOME Bugzilla(
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449243 ) 
but i feel this crash is more to do with packages related in Debian.I
have attached strace output while gnome-about crashed at
http://pastebin.ca/578994
the stack trace is posted below :
