Hi,

Sounds like your gconf settings are faulty. What output do you get if
you run
        gconftool -R /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http
from a terminal?

You can also try re-setting your preferred browser in Desktop >
Preferences > Preferred Applications (or running
gnome-default-applications-properties).
