I think the easiest way is to right click on the video and select "Open
With..." to launch the video in stand alone Totem. That way you can
check the properties and see what kind of video it is.

You could also copy the URL to the stream itself and dump it with
MPlayer for example.

Anyway, like you said, I guess it's not relevant anymore.

Interesting, maybe you installed the experimental version of the
libxine1 package? Anyway, we'll leave the bug open.
