Hi,

The same thing happens if slideshow is run in a window, so I think this
is a limitation of the screensaver hack. I'm therefor reassigning this
bug to the xscreensaver package. 

If there's something gnome-screensaver could do to allow grabbing of the
desktop, I'm happy to forward any such tips to the gnome-screensaver
developers.
