Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a bug in g-p-m, or something to do with hal. 

It would be great if one of you could gather the information requested
here, http://www.gnome.org/projects/gnome-power-manager/bugs.html 
and file a bug directly upstream in http://bugzilla.gnome.org/ , or
attach it to this bug report and I will forward it upstream for you.
