Bug#450722: evince doesn't display gradient margins properly

Package: evince
Version: 0.4.0-5
Severity: normal

When opening PDFs with gradients as a background picture,
evince doesn't display the margins properly. In a gradient with an axis
from lower left to upper right corner, the upper left and lower right
corners are empty and at the sides of the page a saw tooth-like margin
is visible. This phenomenon was known to me from xpdf of sarge, but
seemingly evince inherited it, whereas the problem is fixed now in
etch's xpdf.

The pdfs are generated with OpenOffice 2.0.4 and are also properly
displayed with gv or Adobe Reader on a Mac.

I am using Debian 4.0 with a kernel 2.6.18-5-686.
