 The cause is not so obvious to me.  Not only are both of
 "gtk-color-scheme" and "gtk_color_scheme" accepted here, but the fact
 that gtk-color-scheme is specified on two lines also seems fine for my
 Gtk+.

 Could you please mention the exact error message?  I don't get any
 error when using hte Mist theme here.  I would also be curious to know
 with which application you get this.
