Well, for the gromit plugin, you need the gromit package installed.

The lirc extension requires lirc support, and I guess the galago
extension requires an IM client that uses galago; if you use gaim, have
you tried to install galago-gaim-feed?

BTW, there are other plugins in the package, but they are enabled
automatically.
