Bug#446164: desktop background selector does not allow changing of path via direct input

for me this only works for a complete path to an image, but not when the
path points to a directory. So I put "/usr/share/pixmaps" into the entry
field, press tab and get a list of files in a drop down box. I would
expect the filechooser to change to that directory when I press enter,
but nothing happens.
