Bug#428831: GDM does not parse /etc/profile for the PATH statement.

Having this file /usr/share/gdm/defaults.conf in this location seems counter intuitive.  I would think that
this file should be in either /etc/default or in /etc/gdm.   But yes, it would also be good to mention
/etc/login.defs here as well.
