You don’t even need to compile the kernel; just go to
http://backports.org/ for instructions.

Many bugs in the testing version are already fixed in the unstable
version, this is why there is no use in reporting them.

You can temporarily point your sources to unstable and upgrade only the
related packages, or you can download them by hand on
packages.debian.org.
