I tried iceweasel this morning, opening the same session from an account where
iceweasel was never started, to start with default parameters. After around 
30 seconds, everything was loaded, the CPU came back to its minimum speed,
and load was around 30% for iceweasel.

Setup: browser -> squid (local) -> privoxy (local) -> direct Internet access
       flashblock to stop flash animations
